Are you Guilty of Over Shopping?

Are you Guilty of Over Shopping?

The other day I was helping a bride who told me that she had tried on dresses in eight different bridal shops and had yet to find “the dress.”  We chatted for a few minutes and went to look at gowns.  She pulled one and I pulled a couple.  The first one she tried on was the one she had picked out.  The second one she tried on was the first dress I pulled after our conversation.  She squealed and jumped a little as she came out of the dressing room and got to the viewing area.  I could tell from the smile on her face and the twinkle in her eye that we had hit pay dirt.  She found her dress on the second try with someone who paid attention to her, asked the right questions and showed her the right gown.

I often hear a well-meaning friend or relative suggest that the bride couldn’t possibly buy at the first store she shops and should look around.  I can tell you without a doubt that there is no way anyone could spend an hour alone or with a self-absorbed sales person in any store and know whether or not her dream gown is there.  Some browsers will even walk the perimeter of my store and say that they can’t see what they are looking for.  When I travel to a foreign country the first thing I do is take a tour with a native.  Let them show me the points of interest and help me navigate the terrain.  If I shop a new store or need a specific item I will find the most intelligent looking sales person and ask questions.  Within minutes I have what I want and am happy.

When you shop at The Gallery by Lynette you will find friendly, attentive, knowledgeable consultants whose only agenda is to help you find your perfect dress.

Crystal Couture 1691 Available exclusively at The Gallery by Lynette
What we do is not rocket science but it is more than renting a building, buying a bunch of dresses and leaving customers to believe that this is a do it yourself project.  Big box, most bridal shops and chain stores do exactly that and they are spending the huge amounts of money on marketing and advertising.  The big box bridal stores that shall remain nameless sells 27% of the wedding dresses purchased in the U.S.  Well, it’s no wonder.  Have you ever shopped or registered online with one of the big box bridal stores?  They keep themselves in front of you at all times with emails, phone calls, etc.  You go there just to check things out and see what styles you like.  Their sales people are trained in the “hard sell”, you get the deer in the headlights syndrome and suddenly you are out the door with a wedding dress you never intended to buy.

Do you want to buy the most important dress you will ever wear at an impersonal mass marketed, cattle herd style, chain store or do you want a one of a kind, personal and happy to the end experience?  The choice is yours.  If you or someone you know is getting married in the next 12 months you owe it to yourself to visit The Gallery by Lynette.  Click here for more information.
